What is Wire DEM?


Also known as spark eroding or spark machining, Wire EDM is a machining process where an electrically charged single strand wire is constantly fed within a dielectric fluid (usually deionized water) the resulting discharge when presented by the CNC in close proximity to the grounded workpiece is used to cut a conductive material.


How Does Wire EDM Machine Work?


Wire EDM machining(Electrical Discharge Machining)is an electro thermal production process where a thin single-strand metal wire, Conductive deionized water allows the wire to cut through metal by the use of heat from electrical sparks while preventing rust.


The working principle of the wire cut machine is to use a continuously moving thin metal wire (called the electrode wire) as an electrode, and then perform pulse spark discharge on the workpiece to remove the metal and cut the shape.


The wire EDM machining can process any material with hardness, strength, and brittleness, and is widely used.
